CHA performed assessments of coal ash impoundments across the country through a program administered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). CHA was responsible for performing assessments at 23 sites for over 40 coal ash impoundments in GA, PA, OH, NC, KY, WV, WY, MN and MD. The assessments included on site inspection of dams, dikes and saddle dams, evaluating hydrology and hydraulic performance of the impoundments, evaluating structural stability of the dams and structures, and developing reports summarizing the assessments.
