CHA provided planning, design and construction services for the reconstruction of a portion of this major urban corridor, which serves as the "gateway" to Downtown Schenectady. Reaching beyond traditional streetscaping, CHA’s engineers reshaped this troubled corridor into an engine of economic revitalization. Decorative steel changed and aging overpass into a dramatic gateway that welcomes shoppers, while a new curvilinear alignment lends State Street a comfortable small town aesthetic.
