(Albany, NY - October 14, 2009) CHA is pleased to announce that it has expanded its environmental services to include Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Assessment and Reporting Services.

New environmental regulations, along with increased environmental awareness, are prompting many of the firm's clients to quantify and reduce at their greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, the Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule recently promulgated by the USEPA requires certain suppliers of fossil fuels, manufacturers of vehicles and engines, and facilities that emit 25,000 metric tons or more per year of greenhouse gas emissions submit annual reports to the US Environmental Protection Agency.

"These are services we can provide to virtually all of our clients with air emissions and permitting issues," said Margaret Rudzinski, a Senior Environmental Scientist and Vice President within the firm. "Our Environmental staff have been calculating and permitting emissions for clients for the last 20 years. The expansion of our services to include GHG assessment and reporting reflects our commitment to providing complete air compliance management services to all of our clients."

CHA's Industrial/Environmental staff is now equipped to assess, determine, calculate, and report GHG emissions for boiler expansions, landfill expansions, transportation projects (i.e. construction or expansion of an intermodal site), cogeneration facilities, and most other stationary and mobile sources. The firm can also facilitate compliance with voluntary programs such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), and Climate Registry / Climate Action Reserve.
