Posted on Wednesday, October 27, 2004

The Partners and Principals of Clough Harbour & Associates LLP (CHA) are pleased to announce that CHA has been named among CE News' Best Civil Engineering Firms To Work For in their October 2004 issue. CE News sponsors the annual contest to recognize and reward civil engineering firms that demonstrate outstanding workplace practices.

"We're honored to be named as an employer of choice by CE News," said Paula Heller, CHA's Human Resources Operations Manager. "We're especially pleased that our own employees had so many positive things to say about their experiences at CHA. We continually strive to provide a challenging, rewarding, and family-oriented work environment."

All of the firms that participated in the contest completed an extensive questionnaire about workplace practices and executed an Employee Satisfaction Survey to their staff. Shanon Fauerbach, P.E., editorial director of CE News said, "These firms are truly the best of the best. Firms don’t enter this contest if they don’t think they can compete."

According to a press release issued by CE News, the competition was developed "to provide readers with a meaningful ranking concerning human resource issues in the civil engineering industry, as well as to assist firms in their recruiting and retaining activities. Fauerbach said, "The honored firms are living up to the legacy of this contest, which is to raise the bar of the civil engineering workplace. Originally, we initiated the contest to celebrate success and provide meaningful recognition that could aid in staff recruitment and retainment initiatives - challenging firms to improve, and seeing them actually do so, is a wonderful and unforeseen outcome of this program. We applaud the hard-working staff members at all participating firms, especially those who have improved the work environments, culture, benefits, and the other important elements of a top-notch workplace."
