The Partners & Principals of Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP (CHA) are pleased to announce that CHA has been awarded the 2003 Engineering Excellence Grand Award, given by the Vermont Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC/VT), for the recently completed IM 089-1(21) Brookfield-Montpelier Interstate 89 project. This was the top prize in the Transportation category, which encompassed all highway, interchange, roadway, airport, bridge, railroad and marine facility projects constructed in 2002 within the entire State of Vermont.

The project involved the resurfacing of 9.5 miles of interstate highway in Vermont. CHA designed repairs to the subbase to improve poor drainage conditions throughout the section and developed a Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (M&PT) Plan to maintain full vehicular access on mainline and affected interchanges throughout an accelerated construction schedule.
