The Partners and Principals of Clough Harbour & Associates LLP (CHA) are pleased to announce that CHA has been named among CE News' Top 10 Best Large Civil Engineering Firms To Work For in their October 2005 issue. The ten large firms that were selected for this distinction all rank within CE News’ overall list of the Top 50 Best Civil Engineering Firms to Work For.

CE News sponsors the annual contest to recognize and reward civil engineering firms that demonstrate outstanding workplace practices. For the purposes of this contest, a large firm was defined as one with 500 employees or more.

All of the participating firms completed an extensive questionnaire about workplace practices and executed an Employee Satisfaction Survey to their staff. According to Shanon Fauerbach, P.E., Editor of CE News, more than 16,000 civil engineering firm employees provided feedback about how satisfied they are with their firms’ offerings.

The survey included questions about participating firms’ culture, benefits, performance and recognition practices, compensation, professional development programs, recruiting and retention efforts, among others.

“We applaud all of the firms that entered the competition for recognizing the many benefits that creating a high quality workplace has on the lasting success of a firm,” said Fauerbach. “Finding and keeping top-notch employees is a difficult and costly process for firms in this industry. This contest provides a valuable endorsement of the stellar workplaces these 50 firms have created so they can attract and retain the best and brightest candidates.”
