Clough, Harbour & Associates LLP (CHA) is pleased to announce the official launch of its “Go Green” campaign, which is designed to raise environmental awareness within the firm and establish company-wide practices in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of our organization.
“We believe that by promoting and practicing environmentally- friendly habits as individuals and as a company, we can work together to significantly reduce our impact on the environment,” said CEO Raymond J. Kinley, Jr.
CHA’s goal is to reduce our carbon footprint by 10% over the next year. To achieve this objective, a “Go Green” committee was formed to review our operations and their resulting environmental impacts. This committee has identified four focus areas:
- Office products used by CHA
- Waste generation and minimization
- Office energy alternatives
- Transportation
The firm’s Go Green Committee is currently developing plans to establish a comprehensive office recycling program, replace company-owned vehicles with hybrids, provide cash incentives to employees who purchase hybrid vehicles or participate in carpools, reduce energy consumption throughout our offices, and purchase power from renewable energy sources.
“CHA is committed to protecting our environment and we believe that we have the ability to do so both as a firm and as individuals,” said Christopher Burns, PG, PhD, a partner with CHA who co-chairs its Go Green Committee. “Given the impacts of global warming, rising fossil fuel prices, and the need to preserve our natural resources, I believe we should set an example by adopting environmentally sound business practices throughout our entire organization.”
